For your consideration is this very nice 50's-Era Leresche Model 51 Safety Razor with Case & 60+ NOS Blades GREAT COLLECTOR'S BONUS!! Eleven full NOS packages of French blades dating back to the 30's and two Gillette French blades included. There are over 60 blades total. Check them out... it's really a great collection and most of the boxes are in incredible condition!
Similar design as Gillette's single/double ring three-piece razor of the 20's is the heftier handled French Leresche Razor. A very wonderful shave guaranteed every time with this one, folks. You are going to love it.
A huge name in France, Leresche razors were ubiquitous as the Gillettes here, competitors being Le Coq, Le Grelot, and Gardette. The balance of this razor is superb and it feels great and solid in your hand.
Some brassing on the handle from age and use, but no cracks whatsoever
. These are seriously hard to find without cracks, just like the Gillettes. The head and base have a great shine, with minor marring on the top cap edges. There is no pitting or loss that we can see. Underneath you will find Leresche's classic winged logo.
Teeth: one tooth looks slightly off center and could be pushed right if you want. We left it alone. The end teeth look like they’re bumped inward but that appears to be the design of the razor as they are consistent.
Housed in a really very classy case, it sits neatly and has left its mark on the interior. The case closure works flawlessly, and locks nicely. Great design clasp closure, by the way. It's attractive all around.
