I generate a new FrankenRazor every time I buy a new safety razor, because there’s only one handle I use. I’ve been having a blast putting together Frankenrazors, so I’ve bought some parts from Fendrihan, Maggard, Parker, RazoRock, and West Coast Shaving then started assembling Frankenrazors to exponentially increase the variety of quality partsrazors to choose from! Even more fun! (Also, if there’s a certain head/handle combo you want that I don’t have but can be made from what I have listed, I can put together a custom Franken/PartsRazor for you, ask me for a quote)! I really don’t profit much if even at all after fees and shipping, I mainly do this to encourage/promote traditional wet shaving/DE shaving, because it’s a better, more affordable, eco-friendly, more fun way to shave. What we have here is a RazoRock Old Type Head on a West Coast Shaving 78M solid 303 stainless steel, multicolored, long handle, along with a PAA Buffer Ring to protect the plating on the bottom plate from the harder stainless handle. The RazoRock SLOC head is based on a 1940’s razor design called the Grand Shave King Self-Lubricating razor. What makes the SLOC different is the open comb teeth on both the cap and base plate. This design helps trap extra lather in these “teeth”, providing extra lubrication and glide on each stroke of the razor. It’s also a great blade-buffing razor, because you can shave the same spot several times with less chance of irritation. The Old Type head is Medium in the aggression range, it’s in a very versatile range, more efficient than your typical Merkur 34c, Jagger DE89 or Muhle R89, but less aggressive than a Merkur Futur, Rockwell 6S w/a #5 or #6 bottom plate, the Muhle R41 and the Merkur 39C “Sledgehammer”.
