Soviet Ikar Safety Razor

For your consideration is this rare Soviet IKAR Safety Razor in Original Case - Unused NOS - MINT++ with a total of 20 NOS Russian DE blades in really pristine condition. A true collector's item and kinda fun to use, this Soviet DE razor is as new as they can get, complete with its accompanying innovatively-designed original display case. I listed it as used only because there was no original packaging with it, assuming such a thing existed. In fact, I do not know the production date of these but research tells me possibly the 1970's. This one here looks like I just picked it up brand new from the shop down the street from the Kremlin. The razor itself disassembles in a very unusual way: handle apart from the baseplate, and the head with a male thread meeting the handle through the base. Pretty cool if you ask me. The Russians are known for breaking that two-piece or three-piece limit with some of their designs. Oh yes - since you asked - these are moderately aggressive razors which are both easy to use and light on the skin. Yes, these razors are plastic, and don't get all bummed out about it. There are a lot of cool plastic razors out there, which is why we all love the nostalgia of Bakelite. These razors were made for the general populace and made to be affordable, while still being handsome and very functional and a pleasure to use. It is strong plastic - both the razor and the case - but don't drive your ATV over them. Onto the blades! Included in the case slot is a 10-pack of pristine blades, and another bonus 10-pack of Neva blades. Note that these blades are not just for collecting. They are in close to perfect condition... as NOS as NOS can be, and are very usable and enjoyable. They are thin and they are sharp. These blades definitely represent part of the cost of this item.
