Viintage Age Dispatch Valet Autostrop Safety Razor

VALET AUTOSTROP SINGLE EDGE SAFETY RAZOR COMPLIMENTARY "THE AGE DISPATCH" SET "THE AGE DISPATCH" is an award winning newspaper in Canada VC-1 manufactured from about 1922 - 1929. Not often found. Silver Plated Brass, Open Comb, Solid Runner, Tabbed blade, Removable solid Knurled handle Reads "AutoStrop Safety Razor Co. Limited, Toronto Canada" Various patents 1914-1923 Uses Valet Blades and/or New readily available Feather FHS-10 (stainless) or FAS-10 (carbon). This type is also used with a standard single edge blade with the spine removed. Includes 1 un-open box of 5 Valet blades. Condition . Believed to be un-used. Razor is very nice. Metal case is straight with good hinges and latch. Leather strop looks un-used. Manual shows some aging. Card Boxes show age, wear, & tear. Some missing & torn flaps. Notice the torn surface on the Stropper box. Check out the photos for details. NOTES OF INTEREST: Valet uses proprietary semi-disposable blades that can be re-sharpened in the blade holder by inserting leather strop (included).  Valet filed suit with the Gillette company on copyright infringement in 1930. Gillette took over the company shortly after that.
