* Y ou are bidding on a vintage Gillette "Old Type" safety razor with a ball tip handle. The blade guard bears serial #J-1385, which indicates this razor was manufactured in 1918. My reference material notes that all 1917 and 1918 "J" series razors were allocated to the U. S. Military during WW1. The ball tip handle has hairline cracks on each end of the hollow handle, an ubiquitous flaw in this design series, however neither the top nor bottom plug is loose enough to fall out at the present time (see the last 2 photos for closeup views). Overall, I consider it to be in good condition for a chunk of metal that is over a century old. * Please review all of the photos carefully to ascertain the details and condition of this item. Bear in mind these photos are highly magnified and may show minor imperfections that are not noticeable to the naked eye. * Payment is expected within two days after the end of the auction. * Please contact me with questions or concerns before placing a bid. * Good luck with your bid and thank you for looking. * Inventory #3210N. .
